Plays and sounds almost like an upright bass By:
This is an awesome instrument. It sounds very much like an acoustic upright bass, though it seems to have a bit more sustain. This one is fretless, which allows for smother action without fret buzz, but does require a bit more skill when playing. But anyone with upright bass or cello playing experience could feel quite at home playing this one. And bass guitar players could learn quite quickly how to get the right intonation when playing. Anyway, love this instrument to get that more acoustic sound.
Love the U-Bass By:
Love the U-Bass! Just got it in and digging it! Arrived quickly, in great shape and came with a nice case! This is great for the bassist that wishes he could take it anywhere and practice anytime!

Five Stars By:
This could be the best sounding Bass I've ever owned.
Great for a show, jam or just a noodle on the couch By:
I bought this to replace my fretless Kala Ubass and its better than I could've hoped. The Ubass was great but not quite loud enough, but this guy is loud enough to add bottom end to an acoustic jam, no amp necessary. The larger size is less awkward than the Ubass to play. The fret distance is close to a regular guitar, making it familiar for your fingers. As other reviewers have mentioned, you have to lift the strings out of the nut because they don't slide evenly. It makes tuning a 15-second ordeal instead of a 2-second ordeal, but for how fun and pleasant it is to play, its worth it.

Was skeptical to buy online, but overall, very happy with this Ubass! By:
I had my doubts about ordering an instrument online because I've had bad experiences from other companies in the past. I took a chance and I am so glad I did!! This Ubass is one of the finest instruments I have ever played. The craftsmanship is gorgeous, the sound quality (both plugged and unplugged) is breathtaking, and despite some reviews I've read, the electronics are holding up quite well. I would recommend this product.

Fun, small, and absurdly good - Every bass player should try one at least once. By:
I've been playing bass for 25 years... and somehow I missed that this was a thing. This has very very quickly become my favorite instrument. It's a breeze to play, and the small size belies its astounding sound.I'm sure that a lot of other bass players have different opinions, but this wins for me for the following reasons: - Strings are REALLY easy on the fingers and easy to play - Extremely high quality for the price - the flagship U-bass is significantly less than many mid-range basses - Upright bass sound without the upright bass - Still amps well and can get surprising crunch out of it if you want - Lightweight, and did I mention impossibly small? - Extremely fun to playThe only real negative is that the strings take a bit more break-in to really hold their tone. This has singlehandedly rejuvenated the world of bass for me, and has brought back a lot of fun to it. Every bass player should at least pick one of these up and play it if they have the chance.... You will likely be sold on it very quickly.
