Great Lightweight but Stable Reel By: Spencer Haddock
The reel fits my hand perfectly and balances very well with the rod that I am using. It is smooth and because of the metal body very stable when reeling in bass and/or walleye which are my fishing choices. I am using Kastking 25lb braid with a 12lb fluorocarbon leader. The high speed retrieve allows me to maintain tension on the line while landing a fish and maintain a hook set when fishing slow baits (rubber worms and creature baits.) Because of its light weight, I can cast repeatedly without become tired or getting a sore arm.

Easy to dial in and like others have said, it can cast a mile! Very glad it came with the dual braking system because you will need it when adjusting to your style of cast! I no longer have to use a baseball batter's swing to get my lure where I want it to go, just a nice gentle toss will do the trick. No unusual noises and the fast retrieval ratio, I got the 7.5 to 1, brings them in fast!

Love how easy it is to dial in this reel, have absolutely no back lashes with this reel no matter what I do. The reel is super smooth, I paired mine with 30 lb braid and am using it as my top water reel, it casts 30-40 yards easy. I bought this reel to use in place of my Abu Garcis Gen 3 SX reel, that reel is OK but it back lashes more often that I would like. At under $100.00 this reel is a steal.

I found this unit well constructed. I spooled it and did some casting in the back yard and I am very impressed. It has been cold and rainy here but when we get another warm spell, I will take it out for a reel spin!!

I haven't had a chance to use the reel, but by looks and feel alone you can't go wrong with the Torrent. I have a lot of bait casters, and I have paid four times as much for most of them. I recently bought an inexpensive reel from another company just for dragging worm harnesses, and I wish I had known about this reel before I wasted my money on the other one. This reel looks better, feels better and is much smoother. The large handle with soft grips is really nice. I'll probably buy another one.

Truly surprised at the quality and performance of this reel at this price point. Extremely smooth, much better than the name brand reel that I have used exclusively for decades with good communication through the reel itself which is wonderful. Lightweight, nice looking and was able to fine tune it in about six casts. No birdnests after about an hour of throwing. You will love the ability to oil the internal gears by removing one screw without having to open up the reel. 7-1 ratio proved to be an all around good balance for whatever bait you use. Well constructed low profile with long longer handles for additional power when needed. So far, very happy with this reel. Unable to comment on longevity yet but in hopes I will be able to wear it out!
