Excellent trombone. My daughter is a second year trombone player and this instrument is perfect for her. She also loves the case it came with. It is a backpack case that is really nice and durable. This will be the perfect trombone for many years to come.
AS GOOD PLAYING AS TENOR TROMBONES GET REGARDLESS OF PRICE! By: Melvin H. Chapman
An excellent trombone with a truly great slide.....nickel silver and chrome slides for dent resistance and super slick action. This tenor tromboneis as good as they get. You can pay as high as four thousand dollars for a tenor trombone, but it won't play or sound any better., You will be paying for a prestigious name.A tenor trombone is a simply made instrument with no valves or many bends in the tubing. The old ploy that this or that instrument will suffice for a student, but as one progresses on he needs a really expensive instrument is one of the biggest ripoffs I know of. There are student instruments in the brass family that are as good as they get, lacking only the prestigious name and outrageous pricetag! This does not apply to the reed family where pads and such can be of varying quality and key work can vary in quality - BUT NOT SO WITH BRASS INSTRUMENTS. The prelude TB711 trombone, if taken care of, will suffice all the way through school and then some!

Great Trombone for the Price By: K. Johnson
I got this for my 11 year old son. He was previously using a trombone on lone from his school. This model was recommended by the band instructor as a quality instrument at a reasonable price. So far, we are very pleased and the soft case is much lighter to carry than the hard plastic cases.

My 11 year old son is currently in the 6th grade band and plays the Euphonium Baritone. He became extremely excited about playing the trombone as the school year went on, and wanted to switch for next year. His band instructor said he really needed Euphonium players for next year and suggested he take trombone lessons outside of school. We decided to fuel our son's fire and invest in a trombone. I sent the band instructor a copy of the link for the Bach Prelude TB711--he said it was a great horn, so we bought one. It came with a really cool soft, padded back-pack style case. It also came with a Starter Kit and Tuner. We are extremely happy with our purchase!! My son played it for about 3 hours when it arrived-Oh the sound of music :) !!!!

Great trombone for the lowest price! By: Melvin H. Chapman
The MTB-33 Intermediate B Flat Tenor Slide with F trigger is an excellent horn for an unbelievably low price. The trigger is one of the best in the business. The horn is well finished and well made. Mendini is to be congratulated for making such great instruments available to especially youngsters starting out in the music world who would never afford higher end horns. Many higher end horns are priced higher because of their name and bragging rights. If you have a youngster who want to play trombone for a ridiculously low investment, then Mendini is the horn for you.

I purchased this trombone for my daughter, she had been playing a name brand Trombone. That made me a little nervous about buying this trombone because I didn't know anyone that had one like this one. After she got the trombone she was very happy with it. She told me it has a very clear sound and can reach notes that was not possible with her other trombone. I recommend it to anyone. Thank you.

Great beginner trombone! By: Amazon Customer
I purchased this trombone for my youngest son who starts 6th grade band this year. I found that this was a much cheaper option then renting for the year and he can control use this instrument for years to come. I was confident in making the purchase as my 16 year old son also plays the trombone and has for the last 5 years. He has played multiple trombones in those years so I was able to have his help in reviewing this instrument. It arrived in great condition and the case is perfect for my younger some who is a smaller than average 12 year old. It is very light weight yet durable. The trombone itself plays well. The slide is clean and smooth once you properly oiled. Note that we did use my older sons oil which is better quality, however he says that the oil it came with is perfectly fine.
She is very happy with the product and I'm happy we didn't break ... By: George H.
Daughter wanted to take up the Trombone and was looking at plastic ones. This Trombone was equal in price and is exactly what she needed to get started on the instrument. She is very happy with the product and I'm happy we didn't break the bank!

It is very light (compared to my memories of 30 years ago), so the metal must be quite thin- BE CAREFUL not to ding it!! By: Trey + JB
Wow- what a great package! Because we just received it, I can't comment on things like durability yet, but my initial impression on everything is extremely favorable. Well packaged, nice case, the instrument was well protected and flawless- no scratches or dings. I love the silver accents too- looks like a high end instrument! The metronome/tuner seems very cool and even comes with batteries. The instrument assembled as it should, and even while dry, the slide and tuning end moved very well and smooth. When I properly lubricate them, I think they should be smooth and quiet. Finally, I put it to the test. Haven't played one for 30 years, but still managed a reasonable scale that sounded great actually! That must say something about its construction/design. Impressive for something at this cost point.I'll post again after about a month (birthday present for my son). My son going into sixth grade next year is going to love it!
Wonderful instrument! Great sound. It's made in Japan. The case is really beautiful too!

YSL354 Trombone We bought one used in perfect condition for our 12 year old. It was $20 more than renting for a year so it was an excellent choice and a better instrument.
Excellent quality! By: Wen C.
Excellent trombone. Even though what I got for my son is second hand. The previous buyer took good care of it and the quality of YSL-354 Trombone is just amazing. Before I bought this one, I bought a Stagg Lacquer Plated Slide Tenor Trombone with brand name SKY which cost about $200. (Please avoid it at all cost.) It looks great at first but the inside of slide rust quickly and my son had a very difficult time with it for two years. Finally my son entered middle school and really wanted a better one. His band director e-mailed me his advice:"The slide not sticking is the most important quality. If the curved-part of the Trombone slide is resting on the floor, and you pick up the rest of the trombone (straight up) then the outer slide (the part resting on the floor) will stay on the floor and the inner slide will lift straight up (and out if you pull too far) from the outer slide. If the outer slide 'catches,' then when you lift, the whole trombone (inner and outer slide) will lift up off the floor."My son's old trombone "catches", big time. Then I found Yamaha USL-354, e-mailed the band director's advice to the seller and confirmed that this trombone would work just like the band director requested. Got the trombone. No problem ever since. Wish I knew the trick two years ago.
